John (LOVE) hiking, walking out in the Rocky Mountains: “It (BE) incredibly beautiful out there,” he (SAY). “You (CAN, WALK) for hours and hours and never (SEE) a human being. (THERE, BE) birds and lots of animals, and the landscape (BE) awesome! I simply (LOVE) being out there.”

John has been a hiker forever. “My friends and I often (DRIVE) out to the Rockies -we all (LOVE) going there.”

John's favourite thing (BE) his compass. He (TELL) us, “Knowing where you (BE) is very important. You (NOT, WANT) to get lost in the forest, it (CAN, BE) very dangerous. (THERE, BE) bears and mountain lions up there.” He (SMILE): “The Rocky Mountains (BE) my favourite place!”
